Andorra has 3 natural areas protected for their great value: the Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO), the Sorteny Valley Natural Park and the Comapedrosa Valleys Natural Park. Andorra has the largest ski area in the Pyrenees thanks to its two large domains: Grandvalira and Vallnord.

ON FOOT ALONG THE GREEN RING OF ANDORRA LA VELLA

The Anella Verda is a natural continuum around the city of Andorra la Vella, articulated by a group of enclaves of high ecological, landscape, historical and cultural value, and which allows its periphery to be assessed environmentally and socioculturally.

ASCENT TO THE PEAK OF COMAPEDROSA, THE HIGHEST IN ANDORRA

The peak of Comapedrosa is the highest peak in Andorra, and is located within the Valls del Comapedrosa Communal Natural Park, with a protected area of 1,542.6 ha (15.42 km²). It is located in Arinsal, in the parish of La Massana, and its 2,942 meters of altitude make it an excellent viewpoint of the surrounding mountains and also of the rest of the Pyrenees. From the top you can see in detail the Pica d'Estats massif, the highest peak in Catalonia.

ENCAMP PARISH

The Encamp parish is located in the center of Andorra, at an altitude of more than 1,300m, and borders the Canillo parish to the north, the Escaldes-Engordany parish to the south and France to the east. In fact, the town of Pas de la Casa, located at the eastern end of the Encamp parish, is the only road access between Andorra and France. A good part of the territory of the Encamp parish is part of the great ski area of GrandValira

LAKE OF THE NOU AND VALLEYS OF CLAROR AND PERAFITA

This wonderful excursion allows us to discover the Claror-Perafita sector of the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley Natural Park, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2004 in the category of cultural landscape. During the itinerary we will enjoy pictures of great beauty -such as the waterfalls of the Perafita valley, the headwaters of the Claror valley or the Lake of the Nou-, we observe an extraordinary plant wealth and we discover old cobbled paths, stone walls dry stone and huts that have survived the passage of time.
